Production Locations is a Los Angeles based real estate firm offering property rentals for use in film, commercials, and television. I was project manager for this re-design project, and was responsible for all web design, and WordPress, app, & front-end development.
They approached me in August, 2011 to rebrand, design, and develop their web presence. They needed a website that could be used by film scouts on a range of devices to browse, save, and share a custom collection of location images with their team. The result is a responsive HTML5 + ajax powered web app that allows a user to filter through properties by location, type, style, and property feature, and then to save images into a custom PDF. The layout changes according to device width, so it displays great on Android, iPhone, or iPad, laptop, and desktop.
After an interface update in April of 2013, the individual property pages now feature “infinite scrolling” (scroll based loading), which eliminates the need to click and page through the 100’s of images per location. Users can now efficiently load all images onto a single page for a smoother browsering experience. We also added the option to toggle between thumbnail, medium, and full image views.
